Quality engineered acoustic treatment combining functionality and aesthetics

The attractive flat Functional Panels are quality engineered to provide maximum sound control. They offer a simple, aesthetically attractive method of efficiently reducing reverberation levels and background noise in commercial, office, retail, and institutional environments.

Because of the Panels' outstanding sound absorption properties and special design features, only a percentage of a room’s wall and ceiling surfaces need to be treated with Flat Functional Panels (FFPs) to ensure effective noise treatment.

FFPs are designed as a functional system. These independent panels can be installed in series, in distinctive patterns, or in a myriad of arrangements that will blend in, harmonize, or contrast with a room’s interior design. This functional approach allows facilities to be acoustically upgraded without relocating utilities that are already in place, making FFPs excellent for renovation projects as well as for use in new construction.

Handsome, Durable Panel Facings

Developed to solve the noise control requirements of restaurants, offices, computer room, music practice rooms, and similar facilities, while providing a clean, classic, cloth appearance, FFPs are fabricated on a durable zinc coated steel and finely perforated.

Outstanding Performance

The 2" thick, fine fiberglass offers superb sound absorption/noise control capabilities and has been tested for fire safety per ASTM-E84.

Simple, Tamperproof, Attachment System

Tamperproof wall/ceiling attachment devices, along with all necessary hardware, are provided for each panel. The mounting system is specially designed to permit easy, trouble free installation of FFPs.

Low Maintenance

Panel units are finished in extremely durable polyurethane enamel which can easily be cleaned with common household detergents.

Performance

The number of panels required is determined by dividing the amount of additional absorption required by the sabines per panel at 500 Hz.

The graph to the right shows ranges of acceptable reverberation times at 500Hz. The lower portion of the band is most suitable for rooms intended primarily for speech, while the upper portion is better for music rooms. For general purpose rooms, a reverberation time in the middle portion of the band is recommended. For some more background information about reverberation,

FFPs can be mounted directly to the surface, or for better performance they can be mounted with a 4" air space that separates the FFP and mounting surface. The graph on the right illustrates the difference in performance between the two mounting options.
