Anechoic Chamber (85 Hz.) + Special Conditioning Unit

A project for a Canadian Government agency which included removing and disposing of an old chamber constructed in the 1950's, providing new foundations, and replacing it with this modern steel panel constructed unit with a low velocity, high volume heating and air conditioning unit. A second sound door was installed in the opening from the control room to the area where the chamber is constructed.

The outside dimensions of the chamber are mm 5740 W x 7798 D x 5486 H (18'10" W x 25'7" D x 18'0" H) and the inside free field area is mm 3759 W x 5817 D x 3404 H (12'4" W x 19'1" D x 11'2" H). Eckel Standard EW wedge units were used in this installation. A spring loaded cable floor, lighting, fire protection and safety lighting were also an integral part of this facility.

Uses include setting standards for electrical equipment, including acoustic speakers and various electrical apparatus.
